RESOLUTION NAMING THE AREA OF THE DOWNTOWN PARK THE
"ROTARY BUTTERFLY GARDEN"
WHEREAS, Rotary International was formed in 1905 for professionals with diverse backgrounds
to exchange ideas, form meaningful, lifelong friendships and give back to their communities;
WHEREAS, the Rotary Club of Auburndale was founded in 1925 and is one of the oldest clubs
in our area;
WHEREAS, the City of Auburndale has recently constructed a new butterfly garden in a portion
of the Downtown Park; and
WHEREAS, the Rotary Club of Auburndale has financially supported numerous projects and
programs in the Auburndale community since its inception, including the newly constructed
butterfly garden in the Downtown Park;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF AUBURNDALE,
FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
That the new butterfly garden in the Downtown Park is hereby named the
"ROTARY BUTTERFLY GARDEN"
in honor of a donation of $20,000 to help build this amenity for the citizens and youth of Auburndale.
ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City Commission of the City of Auburndale, Florida
on the 17th day of June, 2019 and proclaimed at the opening of the garden • • • - 25th day of
June, 2019.
